Brooklyn Beckham has reportedly revealed the deeply personal reason he sent a legal letter to his parents, David and Victoria, even as they continue to cling to hopes that their fractured family bond can still be repaired.
Last week, it emerged that the 26-year-old aspiring chef had instructed his famous parents to communicate with him only through lawyers, requesting they avoid direct contact and refrain from mentioning him publicly on social media.

It is now claimed the legal request was made to protect Brooklyn’s mental health, after repeated online posts from David and Victoria tagging or referencing him were said to have taken a heavy emotional toll.
Sources say Brooklyn wants any reconciliation to take place privately, not under the glare of social media.
A source familiar with the situation told The Mirror that things deteriorated after his repeated “requests to stop” were ignored.
“It had been leading to issues with his mental health… it was to protect himself,” the insider said, adding that Brooklyn feels his parents still see him as a child rather than as an adult.
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Brooklyn and his parents for comment.
Despite the breakdown, David and Victoria are said to be holding onto hope of a reunion — even after Brooklyn appeared to distance himself from Nicola amid the latest drama.
Tensions soared when Nicola, 31, deleted a series of posts, including a birthday tribute to Victoria, while posting affectionate snaps with her own parents, Nelson and Claudia Peltz, whom she described as “my crew”.
Brooklyn, however, did not follow her lead.
Earlier this month, Brooklyn’s younger brother Cruz confirmed that Brooklyn had blocked the entire family on social media, after reports suggested the Beckhams had unfollowed him.
He wrote:
“My mum and dad would never unfollow their son… Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I.”
Nicola later shared images of herself strolling by a vast pool at her parents’ home, arms wrapped around them, alongside photos from her birthday celebrations — including snaps of Brooklyn with their dogs.

“Some of my favorite memories at home — and oh my goodness my mama is the most beautiful human inside and out, I wanna be just like her
All Beckham-related content has since been removed from her profile.
Back in 2024, Nicola had publicly wished Victoria a happy 50th birthday, calling her “my dance partner forever” — a tribute that has now disappeared.
Speculation over tension between Nicola and Victoria dates back to the couple’s lavish April 2022 wedding, where it was rumoured Nicola declined to wear a Victoria Beckham gown, instead choosing designs by Valentino, Christian Dior and Versace.
At the time, insiders claimed the Beckhams had taken a backseat during the celebrations, with one source telling the Daily Mail:
“The top table was all Peltzs and it really felt as though the Beckhams were not at the forefront.”
Nicola later denied any feud, insisting Victoria’s atelier simply did not have time to make her dress, adding: “It’s not a feud… No family is perfect.”
Yet Brooklyn and Nicola were rarely seen with the Beckham clan in the months that followed.
The most dramatic development came when the Daily Mail revealed that Brooklyn had asked his parents to communicate only through lawyers — following what he reportedly saw as a series of “nasty” briefings about Nicola, including claims that he was being “controlled”.

“David was told to speak to them via Schillings. That was the only way they could communicate.”
Brooklyn is also said to have blocked his siblings Romeo, Cruz and Harper shortly before Christmas, after they continued to view and like his cooking posts — something believed to go against his wishes for privacy.
He has reportedly told friends that his relationship with his parents is now “over”, though he remains close to his grandparents on both sides.
A source told The Mirror:
“While things between Brooklyn and his parents are over, he is still very fond of his grandparents. There is a lot of love for them, and that has never faltered.”
Brooklyn has been notably absent from every major family milestone this year, including David’s 50th birthday celebrations and his long-awaited knighthood ceremony.
Still, friends insist David and Victoria refuse to give up hope.
“Nothing will change that,” a source said. “He will always be their son — and they will never stop believing a reconciliation is possible.”
