The comedian, 42, became the second campmate to be voted out of this year’s series on Sunday. However, it was what happened after his exit that truly melted viewers’ hearts.

Ioan and Alice were married for 13 years after meeting on the set of 102 Dalmatians. The couple's divorce was far from smooth, with Ioan getting a restraining order in 2022

In an adorable clip shared online, Eddie was seen arriving at a luxury Australian hotel, where the friends and families of the remaining celebrities are staying. As he entered the lobby, he was warmly greeted by his fellow campmates’ loved ones — including Jack’s wife, Aree Gearhart, whom he hugged instantly.

Moments later, Eddie was introduced to Jack and Aree’s daughter, Maple, who is just three years old. Beaming with excitement, he immediately asked the little girl for a high five before playfully saying:
“I need to ask you something… can you give me a shimmy?”

The pair then shared a brief, joyful dance together on the spot as Aree and those nearby watched, smiling. Eddie later joked:
“Daddy wanted me to see your shimmy,”
to which Aree laughed and replied:
“That is so funny.”

Always quick with a cheeky quip, Eddie added:
“You know, you do it so much better than Daddy.”

Following the sweet moment, Eddie continued greeting and hugging the families and friends of his former campmates — many of whom are still competing in the jungle.

Fans quickly flooded social media with emotional reactions to the touching reunion. One viewer wrote:
“Eddie meeting Jack’s wife and daughter… Jack told him to ask Maple to shimmy. I can’t cope. So, so sweet. I love Jack and Eddie’s friendship so much,” followed by crying-with-happiness emojis.

Another added simply:
“Aww this is so precious!! I love Jack and Eddie’s friendship too.”

Many fans were also left devastated by Eddie’s elimination, calling him one of the most underrated contestants of the series. One wrote on X:
“Eddie was the most underrated campmate. He seems like such a lovely guy.”

Another commented:
“Kelly Brook annoyed me that much I stopped watching — but what do you mean Eddie is out?!?”

While a third added:
“Nooooo! What is it with the British public and votes?! Absolutely love Eddie. He didn’t get a fair edit, in my opinion.”

Following his exit, Eddie also lifted the lid on Ruby Wax’s bizarre off-camera behaviour, claiming the 72-year-old comedian had been secretly pinching other campmates’ belongings.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Eddie said:
“Do you not know about this? Ruby’s been nicking stuff off other people. Her bag is full of everyone’s things. Vogue [Williams] lost all her socks — and it’s Ruby who took them.”

He added:
“She even showed me and said, ‘I’ve got Vogue’s socks.’ At one point she even took one of Vogue’s boots. You could tell because of how she was walking — the boot was too long.”

Eddie joked that when he pointed this out, Ruby simply told him:
“Just keep walking. Your job is to keep walking.”

He went on to claim that Ruby also drank from Vogue’s water bottle without hesitation, adding humorously that, in camp, she was treated like royalty.

“Ruby in there is like the Queen Mother,” he said. “She can do whatever she wants. We all want to look after her — but she doesn’t want to be seen as elderly. She’s like, ‘I’m with you guys.’”

Elsewhere, Eddie confirmed that the mysterious packet of butter previously discovered in camp did not come from the Big Breakfast, as only olive oil had been served with toast.

Eddie and Jack had formed an early friendship after being among the first campmates to enter the jungle, alongside Ginge and Aitch, following their success in the opening challenges. The pair were later reunited after initially being placed on opposite sides during the ‘Rivals’ twist.
