Charlotte Church has once again raised eyebrows after candidly admitting she no longer wears deodorant — joking that she now “generally stinks” — before going on to reveal a string of other unapologetically grubby habits.

The 39-year-old Voice of an Angel singer made the eyebrow-raising admission this week, but it is far from the first time she has spoken openly about her less-polished side.

In a previous interview with The Guardian, Charlotte was asked to name her “most unappealing habit” — and didn’t hesitate with her response.

Charlotte said: 'I don¿t wear any deodorant or anything, so I generally stink. I don¿t shave anymore. I don¿t shave anything'

“I pick my nose. I bite my nails,” she said cheerfully. “I do them with great glee.”

She also admitted to having a colourful vocabulary, revealing that the words she uses most often are “f**k” and “lush,” while branding procrastination as her most deplorable trait.

Charlotte also spoke about why she has her 'boobs out for the majority of time' as she dazzles fans in her plunging dresses, admitting she finds it liberating and feels 'much sexier'

Charlotte has been particularly open about her lifestyle choices in recent months, making another surprise confession during an appearance on Emily Dean’s Walking The Dog podcast.

While strolling with the host, Charlotte was visibly taken aback when Emily complimented her on how “lovely” she smelled.

“Do I? That’s surprising,” Charlotte replied. “I never smell nice.”

She then explained: “I don’t wear any deodorant or anything, so I generally stink. I don’t shave anymore — I don’t shave anything.”

The singer said she stopped shaving around 18 months ago, possibly even two years, alongside ditching deodorant altogether.

“I just started thinking, do you know what?” she continued. “This underarm area has so many receptors — lymph and all sorts going on — and I’m not sure about sticking chemical stuff into those pores.”

“Your skin is the largest organ in the body,” she added. “Everything we put on it goes straight into our bloodstream.”

Charlotte, who now runs her own holistic retreat, was keen to stress she isn’t judging anyone else.

“Each to their own,” she said. “Crack on and do whatever feels good — dye it, shave it, whatever. But for me, I’m just like, ‘Nah!’”

She admitted she enjoys the contradiction her appearance creates.

“I love wearing beautiful dresses with really hairy legs, heels and nails,” she said. “It’s so confusing for people.”

During the same chat, Charlotte also explained why she often opts for plunging outfits, admitting she finds it empowering and liberating.

“I’ve got my boobs out for the majority of the time,” she joked, describing it as a “Titmus Test” — a phrase coined by her husband — which she claims quickly reveals people’s true intentions.

“It separates out the pervs immediately,” she said. “And it also separates out people who are deeply conservative or deeply religious.”

“For me, it helps with discernment,” she added. “And honestly, it makes me feel much sexier.”

Earlier this year, the Daily Mail revealed that Charlotte had embraced alternative spiritual practices at her retreat, offering what she described as “ancient wisdom and elemental magic.”

The retreat, run through her company The Dreaming Ltd, has faced financial challenges, recording losses each year and currently sitting more than £800,000 in debt, according to Companies House filings.

Despite this, Charlotte has continued to invest heavily in the project through companies linked to her music and media career.

Once estimated to have earned up to £25 million at the height of her singing success, Charlotte has previously admitted she is “not a millionaire anymore,” having downsized her lifestyle — though her main company still holds substantial reserves.

Charlotte shares children Ruby, 18, and Dexter, 16, with ex-partner Gavin Henson, and daughter Frida, four, with husband Jonathan Powell.
