Helen Skelton has finally broken her silence on the romance rumours swirling around her and Morning Live co-host Gethin Jones — revealing just how close they really are after months of intense public speculation.

The 42-year-old presenter, who split from her ex-husband Richie Myler in 2022, admitted that she and Gethin, 47, are now such close friends that they sometimes “forget” they are even on air while filming the BBC One show alongside co-host Michelle Ackerley.
Speaking in her stunning new Prima Magazine shoot, Helen explained the deep-rooted bond between the trio.
“I’ve been friends with Michelle and Gethin for 25 years,” she revealed. “Geth was on Blue Peter before me so we’ve always crossed paths, and Michelle and I were flatmates when we first lived in London.

“We’re all in the same frame of mind. The tricky bit is, we’re such good mates that sometimes we forget we’re on air. I see my work friends as much as my real friends.”

Helen and Gethin have done little to cool speculation that their friendship may have developed into something more after they were seen cosying up on the red carpet at both the Pride of Britain Awards in October and again last month at the Royal Television Society Awards.

Their long-time friendship is believed to have turned romantic earlier this year, and although reports later suggested things had “cooled,” their continued public appearances together are once again fuelling rumours that the relationship may still be going strong.
!['I would have had more kids until this stage [of motherhood] ¿ I really would. I really like it,' she said. 'The no sleeping and no routine ¿ working in telly is really good training for that'](https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2025/12/02/21/104383035-15346823-image-a-45_1764709598033.jpg)
Away from the romance talk, Helen also opened up about motherhood and her shifting mindset as her children grow older. She shares Ernie, 10, Louis, eight, and three-year-old Elsie with her ex-husband.

She admitted she has recently let go of her old “mum guilt” after realising how proud her children are of her career.
“I used to stress about returning to work after having the kids, but now they actually love what I do,” she said.
“My eldest is gutted every year that I can’t do Strictly. And sometimes they say things that just bring me to my knees — like when one of them recently said to someone, ‘My mum’s Helen Skelton.’
Though they also think I’m completely embarrassing.”
Helen also revealed that she would have loved to have had more children, but now feels she must focus on being fully present for the three she already has.
“I would have had more kids until this stage of motherhood — I really would. I love it,” she said.
“The no sleeping and no routine — working in telly is really good training for that. But I’m really conscious I’m now at the stage where they all really want me, and I want to be there for them.”
She added that turning 40 has helped her embrace the chaos of life and accept that perfection is no longer realistic.
“Something I’ve really embraced since turning 40 is acceptance. My house is chaos, my car’s a tip, I’m probably going to be late,” she laughed.
“I’ll turn up at a kid’s birthday party without the present wrapped, and when friends come for dinner they bring their own food. I’m chaotic — but I’m great fun!”
The full interview appears in the January issue of Prima, on sale now.
