Rumblings behind the scenes of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! have exploded into public view after Jess Glynne openly criticised ITV over the treatment of her girlfriend, Alex Scott. The decision to eliminate the former Lioness first left fans stunned — but Jess’s pointed comments suggested there was more to the story than viewers were shown.

According to industry whispers and those close to the couple, tension reportedly began when producers allegedly hoped Alex would lean more heavily into her personal life on-screen — particularly her relationship with Jess — to boost emotional engagement. Alex, known for her professionalism and reluctance to use romance as a “storyline,” did not entertain the suggestion. Soon after, she became the first campmate voted out.

Whether coincidence or something deeper, the timing has fuelled suspicion.

Jess, 36, took to Instagram moments after Alex’s exit aired, praising her partner while making her frustration unmistakably clear.
“My woman might be out far earlier than she ever deserved, but I’m unbelievably proud of her,” she wrote.
“She didn’t get the airtime to show how incredible she really is — and trust me, this is only the beginning.”

In the same social media candid message, Jess opened up revealing she was unable to greet Alex on the I'm A Celeb bridge because her mother has suffered a 'major stroke and underwent brain surgery' (Alex and Jess pictured in March)

Her message immediately ignited debate online, with many viewers agreeing they barely saw Alex during the two weeks she spent in the jungle. Clips of her were scarce, confessionals minimal, and several key moments appeared to be edited out entirely. Fans questioned whether the audience ever had a fair chance to get to know her.

But Jess’s post revealed something even more personal: the heartbreaking reason she wasn’t waiting on the bridge to greet Alex after her eviction.
She disclosed that her mother had suffered a “major stroke” and undergone urgent brain surgery, forcing Jess to remain close to home.
“It’s been a life-altering time for my family,” she wrote. “I can’t wait to have Alex back by my side.”

Instead, Alex was met by close friend Regan Coleman, who escorted her out of camp as the former footballer tried to process her sudden exit.

Speaking with Ant and Dec, Alex attempted to stay upbeat.
“I’m free!” she joked, though she admitted the experience “didn’t feel real yet.”
She insisted she wasn’t disappointed to be the first one out, describing the jungle as “mentally tough but unforgettable.”

As she looked back on her time in camp, Alex admitted to sneaking contraband salt into the jungle, hiding the packets in her socks to subtly improve the infamous rice rations. She laughed as footage played, confessing that Jack Osbourne had helped her sprinkle it into the pot.

But she didn’t hold back when asked about the worst part of jungle life.
“The toilet seat situation was awful,” she said. “And someone keeps leaving the seat up — but we can’t say anything because he’s a national treasure.”

Before making her final walk across the iconic bridge, Alex revealed who she wanted to win the series.
“I’d love Shona to win — it would give her the confidence she deserves,” she said. “Ginge and Aitch are great too, and I’d love to see them in the final.”

While ITV has not commented on Jess’s claims, many viewers believe Alex’s limited screen time contributed to her early elimination. The broader question — whether something deeper influenced her lack of airtime — remains unanswered, and speculation continues to grow.

For now, Jess stands firm in her belief that the public never got to see the Alex she knows.
And as the debate intensifies across social media, one thing is certain: her early exit has become one of the most talked-about moments of the season.
