AngryGinge has taken a subtle but unmistakable swipe at his estranged father for “walking out” on him, just days after fans rallied around the streamer following his triumphant win on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

The 24-year-old content creator, real name Morgan Burtwistle, was crowned King of the Jungle during Sunday night’s ITV final, beating EastEnders star Shona McGarty and Celebs Go Dating favourite Tom Read Wilson.

Ginge has never hidden the fact he was raised entirely by his single mum, Michelle, who emotionally joined him in the Jungle during one episode of the hit reality series. Throughout the show, he said little about his father, having previously revealed through podcasts and streaming videos that his dad had never been part of his life.

He told fans that all contact with his father was cut long before his online fame began. While his father worked as a truck driver, it was Michelle who supported the family alone after he left the picture.

Now, following his life-changing Jungle victory, Ginge appeared to fire a cheeky dig in his father’s direction as fans flooded his Instagram with messages of support.
One follower shared a scene from the hit film Interstellar, showing Matthew McConaughey’s character breaking down in tears while watching old videos of his daughter. The fan captioned it:
“AngryGinge’s dad watching his past self walk out on the son who went on to win I’m A Celebrity.”
Reposting the clip to his own Instagram Stories, Ginge simply replied:
“HAHAHAHAHAHAH.”
Moments later, he casually brushed off the dig by sharing a photo of his steak-and-chips lunch.
The emotional exchange comes after the streamer revealed he had entered the ITV show purely to make his mother proud — despite knowing he would lose “hundreds of thousands of pounds” by stepping away from his lucrative streaming career.
During his five weeks in Australia, Ginge missed out on Christmas brand deals and a huge amount of income generated through live streaming.
He told the Daily Mail:
“I remember her saying years ago one of her main aims was that she wanted to go to Australia — and I managed to get her a free holiday there. I didn’t do it for publicity. I did it because I had the opportunity to live eight-year-old Morgan’s dream and make my mum proud.”

Ginge grew up on a council estate in Salford in a single-parent household. His father was absent, leaving Michelle to raise both him and his sister, Tasha, on just £12,500 a year while juggling three jobs.
Reflecting on what the Jungle crown meant to him personally, the star said:
“I wanted my mum to know how well she did raising us and how much I appreciate everything she did — from being a single parent since I was about one year old, working nonstop throughout my life.”
“Anything I can do that makes her proud is the best feeling in the world.”
A source close to the star added:
“Ginge lost hundreds of thousands of pounds by doing the show. He didn’t do it for himself — he did it for his mum. He missed a month of streaming and all the brand deals in the run-up to Christmas.”
Twitch streamers make money through subscriptions, donations and sponsorship deals — and the more viewers they attract, the more they earn. Ginge already had more than five million followers on his Twitch account before entering the Jungle, making him ITV’s major Gen Z draw for the series.
The strategy paid off, with the show attracting 2.5 million consolidated viewers — its highest figure since the 2022 World Cup.
Ginge and his mum Michelle won over viewers when she and his sister Tasha surprised him during an emotional Jungle reunion.
Yet the social media star has also revealed he almost quit the show just 10 days in — a moment he now admits could have been disastrous.
He confessed:
“I was sitting by myself thinking, ‘I’ve got the taste for it now. I know what it’s like.’ I was debating quitting, but then I just powered through it.”
As for what lies ahead, Ginge is expected to return to streaming in the short term before making a move into the mainstream next year.
For now, he simply admitted:
“I haven’t got a clue what’s next. Can you go higher from here? I don’t know.”
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is available to stream on ITVX.
