ANGRY Ginge didn’t join I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! for fame, money, or a holiday — he joined for one person: his mum, Michelle, the woman who raised him alone through years of struggle that most viewers never knew.

According to his close friend and Bov Boys co-star Jakey Davies, the online creator made it clear long before stepping into the jungle that everything he does is for her.
“He wants to make her proud,” Jakey told the Mirror. “He values his family more than anything. He’s an inspiration for people from a working-class background.”

But behind that simple dream lies a childhood story far more painful than Ginge has ever publicly shared.

💔 Raised in a council flat after being abandoned

Ginge — real name Morgan Sam Lee Burtwistle — grew up in a cramped council flat in Salford, Greater Manchester.
His mother Michelle was left to raise him alone after his father walked out and cut contact completely, leaving the pair to survive in conditions Ginge has described as “near impossible.”

The experience shaped everything he is today.
Jakey revealed: “People see the fun, fiery side of him online, but they don’t realise he never had an easy start.”

Now with more than 5 million followers, Ginge has become one of the favourites to win this year’s I’m A Celeb — not for flashy TV moments, but for the raw vulnerability he’s shown in camp.

💔 “If she can do it, then I can do this.”

During a deeply emotional moment in camp, Ginge opened up to former Lioness Alex Scott, finally letting viewers see the weight he still carries.

“We’ve got no problem getting our hands stuck in,” Alex told him, reflecting on their shared working-class roots.

Ginge nodded and said that whenever he struggles in the jungle — whether it’s hunger, exhaustion, or the pressure of the trials — he always thinks of his mum heading to work for her first job, then her second, then her third, often barely able to stand but pushing through anyway.

“So that’s what keeps me going,” he said. “If she can do it, then I can do this.”

It was the first time fans saw the quiet, real reason behind his determination — not fame, not money, but a promise to honour the woman who sacrificed everything for him.

🌟 A journey bigger than the jungle

Ginge hasn’t been abroad since 2017 — and never to a place this far from home.
The sudden change, the isolation, and the pressure have all stirred up powerful emotions.

“He’s just human,” Jakey explained. “People forget that.”

Experts told The Sun that Ginge is expected to land major six-figure opportunities once he leaves the jungle, from TV appearances to book deals.
But inside camp, none of that is on his mind.

“He’ll be overwhelmed by the love he’s received,” one expert said. “Right now, he just wants to finish strong. Afterwards, he’ll choose opportunities that let him use his platform for something meaningful.”

Fans have watched Ginge laugh, compete, struggle, and push through each trial.
But now they understand why he keeps going.

Not for the crown.
Not for the attention.
But for Michelle — the mother who carried him through the hardest years of his life, and the woman he now dreams of protecting in return.
