The 39-year-old singer has poured more than £500,000 of her own money into keeping The Dreaming, her sprawling 47-acre retreat in Powys, alive. And now, in a bold — some say bewildering — new move, Charlotte is personally hosting four-night witchcraft weekends promising ancient wisdom, elemental magic and deep ritual practice.
But spiritual awakening comes with a very earthly price tag.
£3,000 To ‘Embody Your Magic’
Couples can pay up to £3,000 to attend the witches-only experience, run by Charlotte and self-styled “High Priestess” Tree Carr. Guests sleep in rooms with names like The Womb, where pink tadelakt walls are designed to make women feel “swaddled”.
The retreat promises herbalism, dream-work, plant-spirit connection, meditation, sacred art and sound journeys — all themed around the five elements: earth, air, fire, water and spirit.
A Business Running On Faith — And Loans
Behind the mystical marketing lies a harsh financial reality.
According to Companies House, The Dreaming Ltd is now £811,626 in debt, up from £707,550 last year. Two companies linked to Charlotte’s music and media empire have already injected £610,149 to keep the retreat afloat.
One firm alone is owed more than half a million pounds.
While Charlotte has admitted she is “not a millionaire anymore”, her main company still holds reserves of over £3 million — giving her the means to continue the gamble.
Volunteers, Foraging and Six-Month Work Exchanges
To reduce costs, Charlotte recruits volunteers to work in the gardens and grounds in exchange for food, board and “time immersed in the magic”.
In a video filmed in the forest, she urged followers who felt “a call to the land” to join for up to six months, tending edible landscapes and learning to live “in symbiotic connection with nature”.
Mushrooms, Rituals — And Singing to the Land
Charlotte has spoken openly about how magic mushrooms transformed her relationship with nature, claiming that once she experienced the “unseen world”, she could never go back.
Today, guests at The Dreaming can take part in ceremonies, sound healing sessions and what Charlotte describes as singing to the land — a far cry from her days belting out classical arias on global stages.
From £25m Star to Spiritual Survivor
After earning an estimated £25 million at the height of her fame, Charlotte downsized from a mansion to a semi-detached home — and now finds herself fighting to save a retreat built on ritual, magic and hope.

But one thing is certain: Charlotte Church is no longer just chasing chart success — she’s chasing transformation, one witchcraft weekend at a time.
